Meet Ayana

Hello, I’m Ayana, the Front Desk Coordinator and Manager of 1630 Hair Artisans and a part‑time film buff who has worked at the salon for five years. I love being part of a team that shares the same attitude and philosophy of hospitality, making it a place I genuinely enjoy coming to. I hope that when you think of 1630, you remember not only how exceptional your hair looked but the entire experience, from the moment you’re greeted to the moment you leave. Even though I’m not the one cutting hair or placing foils, I focus on what I can do—offering umbrellas in the rain, taking coats, and providing refreshments to create comfort, luxury, and a sense of being understood. Maya Angelou’s reminder that people never forget how you made them feel guides me every day as I work with both employees and guests. Outside the salon, I spend time with loved ones and watch films across genres, especially noir, silent, musical, and westerns, with favorites like The Cremator (1969), Une Femme est Une Femme (1961), Party Girl (1995), and Watching the Detectives (2007
